The Diocese of Fort Worth requires that each person who serves the Church or any of the organizations in the Church attends a Protecting God's Children Session. The purpose of the session is to help the people of the church become the eyes and ears of the community to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep our whole community safe from any form of abuse.

NOTE: Even though the diocesan website indicates that copies of forms are sent to our parish office, they are not and you MUST PRINT each form and return it to Theresa Gaitan ([email protected]), our parish Safe Environment Coordinator.

To serve in an organization or ministry in the church each person is required to:
- Register with VIRTUS (click here)
- Attend a VIRTUS Protecting God's Children Session (every 2 years) (click here)
- Complete the Volunteer Ministry Application (remember to PRINT this form after filling it in) which includes agreeing to a background check that is done every 5 years (click here)
- Agree to follow the Code of Conduct for the Diocese of Fort Worth (click here)
- New and renewing ministers must provide 3 (non-family member) references (click here)

All VIRTUS Safe Environment Awareness Sessions are in person. Volunteers who need an initial (or renewal) safe environment awareness session may register through our diocese's VIRTUS webpage http://fwdioc.org/training-schedules.
