The vocation of marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator. Marriage is not a purely human institution despite the many variations it may have undergone through the centuries in different cultures, social structures, and spiritual attitudes. - Catechism of the Catholic Church no.1603
Our parish is happy that you have decided to celebrate your love for each other in a church wedding. Marriage is a sacred commitment, a true vocation in Christ. On your wedding day, you publicly invite God to be an integral part of your life as a couple. As husband and wife in the Sacrament of Marriage, you will share each other’s joys and sorrows in the company of God’s Love. To begin the Marriage Prep process here at Saint Andrew either parties must be a registered member. Whether you are to be married at Saint Andrew or to be married at another location, your marriage prep is to be prepared at the church at which you are currently a registered member of. Engaged couples are expected to begin their preparation 10 to 12 months before the intended wedding date.
Marriage Prep at Saint Andrew:
The first step is to attend a Marriage Prep Orientation Class (see dates below). At this orientation, our Marriage Prep Coordinator will help guide you throughout each step of the process. We will discuss your planned date and explain the requirements of the Catholic wedding ceremony. At the Orientation we will cover the documents required, classes that need to be taken, deadlines, and timeline leading up to your Wedding.
Marriage Prep Orientation is held in the Saint Andrew Parish Hall Room 211. The orientation begins at 9:30 am and typically lasts 90 minutes.
