THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
The vocation of marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator. Marriage is not a purely human institution despite the many variations it may have undergone through the centuries in different cultures, social structures, and spiritual attitudes. - Catechism of the Catholic Church no.1603
"Father, you have made the union of man and woman so holy a mystery that it symbolizes the marriage of Christ and his Church…. (Rite of Marriage)
Marriage Preparation:
We are here to walk with you as you prepare to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony in the Catholic Church.
Engaged couples are expected to begin their preparation 9 to 12 months before the intended wedding date. The first step is to attend a Marriage Preparation Orientation. At this orientation, the couple will learn more about the marriage process, as well as participate in a survey to determine how we can best help you prepare for married life.
An appointment with a priest or deacon will follow shortly after the orientation. If the wedding is to take place at Saint Andrew, we cannot schedule a date until the couple has met with a member of the clergy here at the Parish. Please ensure your wedding planning begins early enough so there is time to complete all the necessary preparation and gather the required documents. We want to help you prepare for a life of marriage success!
For more information or to register for an orientation, please contact Deannie and Tom Rooney, 817-599-6543.
Please call Deannie or Tom who will visit with you and provide the necessary details to ensure you receive the individual care and preparation required by the Parish and the Diocese of Fort Worth.
