Dr. Christina Alves is currently Director of Music and Liturgy at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Fort Worth, Texas, a position she has held for 21 years. She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Arkansas State University with an emphasis in Choral Conducting. Christina also completed Master and Doctoral degrees in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University. In addition to many years of singing professionally, she has over thirty years experience as a cantor in the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Archdiocese of Baltimore, and the Diocese of Fort Worth. She enjoys giving workshops parish wide and regionally involving the Cantor and Reader Ministries. Christina truly enjoys connecting people and helping them discover their gifts. She also plans and coordinates the various liturgical celebrations of the parish throughout the year. Christina assists families who are grieving the loss of loved ones, helps wedding couples plan their weddings, oversees the training and care of the various liturgical ministries and works closely with our Franciscan Friars in their ministry to those in our parish and beyond.
