First Reconciliation
Preparation for the Sacrament of Penance and
Rite of Reconciliation occurs every twelve weeks at Saint
Andrew Parish. A child is first eligible to celebrate the Sacrament
of Penance and Rite of Reconciliation upon reaching catechetical age
(usually around the age of seven). When a parent feels his or her child
is ready to prepare for the sacrament of Sacrament of Penance and Rite
of Reconciliation, he or she may register the child in the Sacrament
of Penance and Rite of Reconciliation preparation program anytime following
the child’s seventh birthday. Many parents wait until their child
is older, has more religious education and/or more mature.
